Everybody is different, so each person’s training is going to be different as well. Ideally, you want to find someone that best fits your specific goals, background, and needs, and can be the best coach for your objectives. No trainer is going to be an expert on every technique, every sport and activity, every population. No trainer can have all the knowledge and experience about best practices for every medical condition. It may be difficult to find your 100% perfect trainer, but one thing that will be critically important is personality compatibility - If you are not comfortable with your trainer, it is not going to be as effective. An example - some folks perform best under higher pressure, and prefer working with a more intense trainer. Others may just find that style to be stressful, and would do better by working with someone else. Before you make any sort of financial commitment or sign up for anything, you can (and should) discuss everything with a potential trainer about everything involved. You don’t want to start working with someone, only to find that they are not a good match for you.
Our trainers keep up with current scientific research to make sure that we are following the best practices and using proven techniques. We are in the Information Age, which is wonderful, but it can also subject us to an overwhelming amount of information, not all of which is based in sound research. Our programs and techniques are based on scientific and proven industry experience, and never from the untested assertions of some random influencer-of-the-week.
But the best reason is that we’re Personal Trainers, not Impersonal Trainers! 🙂
Every person is unique, and we will never try to put you in an existing program that seems “close enough”, or try to use a one-size-fits-all approach. We will work with you to put together a program that aligns best with your goals, background, and schedule.
